- Coordinate and perform activities associated with the supplier quality program including developing policies and procedures, performing supplier capability and quality assessments.
- Leading the Ship-to-Stock program, Supplier APQP, management of Change, Quality Image Ranking, supplier PPM improvement, supplier 8D & corrective action.
- To develop and implement state of the art supplier quality systems and also develop the necessary supplier quality policies and procedures.
- Conduct presentations to communicate supplier quality policies, procedures and quality requirements
- Conduct quality audits (System and Process) and surveys at supplier’s facilities to determine whether the supplier production quality, quality systems and quality management systems are adequate.
- To work closely with selected suppliers to assist in the development of their quality systems.
- To assist selected suppliers in trouble shooting existing problems and complaints using quality tools such as Taguchi methods, VSM, Six Sigma, and Juran techniques.
- Review and adjust supplier ratings on an as needed basis.
- Provide purchasing with information necessary to assist in the supplier reduction plan, new programs and supplier issues.
- Coordinate and standardize supplier quality activities
- Report team and supplier performance to key metrics on a regular basis.
- Lead the supplier APQP and part review process to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
- Complete supplier quality Image Rankings.
- Lead Supplier ship-to-stock initiatives.
- Coordinate the evaluation, documentation, segregation, notification, sorting and quick return of non-conforming purchased production material.
- Develop and maintain documented procedures & work instructions for supplier quality based on IATF16949 requirements and customer specific requirements (if applicable)
- Provide quality training to satisfy internal/ external requirements for suppliers
